Welcome to Self Invested, a platform focused on financial literacy and personal development. I’m not an expert. I’m not a financial advisor. I’m just a regular guy that enjoys learning about how we can do better with money and sharing what I learn along the way!

London based Lemuel started off Self Invested in mid 2020 during lockdown, not wanting the income from just his employment, along with always being interested in having his own business, spurned on by watching YouTube personal finance videos. Starting the platform up was relatively straightforward and organic. Being a working, married family man is one of his main challenges.

Self Invested’s YouTube channel has rapidly grown (over 1000 subscribers), building up a dedicated following, the housing topic videos being his favourite, picking up the most traction while providing knowledge such as Help To Buy being cheaper than Shared Ownership. His videos have allowed him to speak with other content creators in the finance/property world, showcasing their stories, successes and tips.

He likens what he does with Self Invested like an artist, creating. ‘You’re like the big brother I never had’, a glowing recommendation he’s received from his work🤗

What advice would Lemuel give his past self when starting Self Invested? ‘Don’t be too precious on the production’, explaining further that having great sound/audio is more important than the visual aspects. The best method he found for creating his content has been short form content, focusing on current trends and not relying on a script.

As always stated at the beginning of his videos, Lemuel is not a financial advisor, but his top financial tips to give are, ‘don’t rush into anything’, ‘read the lease‘ and ‘don’t rush into anything that would lead to debt’.
